Sweet ginger knows what he wants and is looking for his forever home.
Einstein is a beautiful ginger boy with a unique personality. He desperately wants affection but needs someone who will be patient with him and give him time to trust.
He was surrendered to The Feline Connection by the sister of his owner, who loved him dearly and has had him since he was a feral kitten. Unfortunately, he was not completely socialized before the brother had to go into assisted living. So Einstein is an indoor boy, with no experience outdoors, but needs a relaxed, experienced cat parent who can work with him to overcome bad habits and get him more used to humans.
His foster mom has made huge progress with him since the quote below. She can now hold him.
He loves to play, he purrs when I sit and read with him, and he allows scritches with an object–I use the tail of a stuffed fish toy but I think a back scratcher would work too. He pats himself on me when I arrive in the morning and evening and pats himself on my hand as I fill his dishes. However, I am not allowed to pat him with my bare hand–unless he can’t see me (which means I can pat his back and tail while he is eating or reoccupied) and I am not allowed to touch HIS toys (from his original home), but any toy I supplied I am welcome to touch as much as I want, even after he has played with it. Strange cat, but beautiful and–on his terms–very affectionate.
Foster mom
Einstein tested negative for FeLV, FIV, and Heartworm. He is up to date on his vaccines and will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption. He was also treated for fleas and ear mites.
Einstein is ready for his second chance! He will need an experienced cat owner and will probably need to be an only pet. With time and a little one-on-one love, Einstein will most likely come around but he still likes things on his terms. He is free to a good home where he can be the only pet without children.
