Woolly Bear Polydactyl Pirate Cat: A Fighter with a Heart of Gold

Woolly Bear – Female Kitten: early February 2024

Woolly Bear came to us as a tiny fighter. Found with a severe upper respiratory infection (URI), she was scared, lethargic, and struggling to breathe. But this little girl had a fierce spirit! With lots of love and care, she bounced back from her illness.

Personality:

  • Timid at first: Woolly Bear is cautious with new people, likely due to her medical experiences early on. However, she’s a quick learner! If you sit quietly, she’ll slowly come over to investigate.
  • Cuddle Monster: Once she gets to know you, Woolly Bear is all about the love! Purrs, nose kisses, and playful paw pats are her specialties. She thrives on attention and enjoys being held.
  • Playful Spirit: Woolly Bear is a bundle of energy who loves to play with her siblings. Toys, anyone?
  • Communicative: This vocal little lady loves to “talk” and chirp, keeping you entertained with her kitty chatter.
early April 2024 – snuggling with her Foster mom!
basics:
  • Cats: Woolly Bear gets along well with other felines.
  • Children and Dogs: Unknown at this time.
  • Born: September 24th, 2023 (estimated)
  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair (DSH) – Black with a sprinkle of white, charming white whiskers and a handful of white locket fur!
  • Medical: Spayed, microchipped, and given age-appropriate vaccines. She tested negative for FeLV and FIV. She is 100% blind in her right eye. It doesn’t slow her down, but a tiny bit of awareness about that would help her feel safe in her new family.

Bonus: Woolly Bear earned the nickname “Wooly” for a reason! Her fur is oh-so-soft and cuddly, making her the perfect lap cat. She has HUGE front paws too! and a little white locket.
