BY HANNA

Welcome back to my blog! This week was very very short due to Thanksgiving break but I got enough information to still write! This last Monday we met with Gena, The Feline Connection foster Coordinator. She talked about how she became more involved with TFC and her experiences so far. I found what she had to say very interesting because she had a different approach to the discussion than Maria did.

Gena mentioned how many cats she has in her house unexpectedly and we even got to meet one who is also up for adoption! Knowing she had over 15 cats in her house was insanely cool and fascinating because it just goes to show how much she really does care.  I also got the chance to ask and learn more about catching the cats and releasing them after neuter and spay. She went over the process and how they carefully catch and release them back where they found them which I found intriguing because of how wild and feral they are.

Gena and talked a lot about her love for cats and how much the TFC truly changed her, which gave me more courage to rescue. Listening to her talk about her job and the cats she has met proves that she does it because of her huge heart. Especially during this time with Covid, hearing joyful stories and heartwarming moments impact lots of people’s days for the better. Talking with Gena inspired me to pursue my dream of being a foster and starting an animal rescue. She helped me have a better understanding of the importance of the job.

Ponyo is eating better and came out onto the stairs to meet the dog! He is completely healthy and growing, according the Vet.

There is so much to learn about the ferals and how they have their own ways. Even when we want them to be inside kitties, it is the feral calling to them and we must put them back from where they came from and their friends. There are some kitties than can be taken in and do very well as inside kitties. So much knowlege and experience in The Feline Connection. It is a Blessing to the furries and us and a huge Thank You for doing an intership.
