A beautiful, loving, shy Orwell Jewel!
Alex is friendly. Purring and pushing into chin rubs on contact. She sleeps on the bed and likes to sleep next to her foster mom. She is very playful and loves toys. She has a quiet purr. She likes all over body rubs. She loves to eat, really anything.
Alex was one of the last of the Orwell Jewels that we picked up. The Jewels are a group of loving, beautiful, soft and gentle cats that got left behind when their dad passed away. We were able to rescue almost all of the cats, a few had wandered away looking for food or been hit by cars on the nearby busy roadway before we got there.
After rescuing Alex and a few others, we went back 2 days later and found a singleton kitten, Madoc. We brought him home, and quickly figured out he belonged to Alex! The two were happily reunited, and Alex was able to raise him in a safe and loving home.
Madoc just went home to his new Forever Family, and with her mothering done, it’s time for Alexandrite to find hers. 🙂

Alexandrite, like all the Orwell Jewels, has the classic family traits of being very gentle and kind. We believe that like the other Jewels, she will blossom with a Forever Family of her very own, but is likely to remain on the shyer side. A busy household is not the right fit for her. She really loves other cats and would do best in a Forever Family with other Feline Furbabies.
Alexandrite had a vet checkup and tested negative (like all the Orwell Jewels) for FeLV, FIV and Heartworm. Prior to adoption she will be spayed and receive a microchip, FVRCP and Rabies 1 yr vaccines.
